This bill mandates that when the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) restores a person’s driver’s license after it was revoked, that person can only operate a vehicle that displays a special registration plate. The plate is a different color than regular plates so that it can be identified easily by law enforcement and requires an extra $10 fee. This requirement applies for seven years in some cases and three years in all others. Violators of the new policy would have their licenses revoked for one year.
