Sammy (she/her) is a community builder, advocate, and macro social worker with over five years of experience in the nonprofit sector. After graduating with a B.A. in Public Health from Tufts University, Sammy worked for several years in Boston. During that time Sammy worked as a Domestic Violence Counselor for RESPOND, Inc. where she provided direct case management services to individuals who had experienced domestic violence. She then joined the Reading, MA Coalition for Prevention & Support where she served as the Outreach Coordinator and spearheaded work to strengthen and expand the behavioral health services network in the region. Sammy moved to North Carolina in 2021 to attend graduate school at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she completed her Master of Social Work with a specialization in Community, Management, and Policy Practice. Sammy is deeply committed to building healthy communities, defending civil liberties, and advocating for policies and programs to promote social, racial, and reproductive justice.
