Budgets reflect our values and priorities; yet we allocate immense resources to police, prisons, and major businesses, and away from safety nets that keep our communities healthy, happy, and whole. In North Carolina, the state legislature’s proposed budget continues to divest in people’s resources, ranging from housing to healthcare and workers’ rights.
