This bill requires public schools to adopt a policy for selecting library books that includes a review process where community members can object to recommended books. It bans books from public schools that contain material that is "harmful to minors," for which the definition is very broad, including material that "depicts or describes sexual activity."
This bill also allows parents and legal guardians of students and county residents to take legal action against public schools that violate any of the slate of harmful bills limiting LGBTQ+ content.
