This bill adds new restrictions to medication abortion in North Carolina. The provisions include:

  • requiring patients to receive in-person counseling for informed consent before receiving abortion medications.
  • mandating that only FDA approved medications can be used for medication abortion.
  • increasing crimial penalties for people who violate the bill to a class H felony.
  • allowing for civil actions if pateints or gaurdians of minor patients believe they were harmed by violations fo the law.
  • requiring foreign manufacturers or nonprofits who mail abortion medication to patients in North Carolina to register with the state.
